Mercedes-Benz has decided to recall some EQS vehicles!

Mercedes has recalled some EQS vehicles in the past months. But this new bug is very critical compared to the other one. According to the statement, fires can occur in vehicles due to an unsecured electrical connection fault. This can cause extensive damage to both drivers and vehicles.

However, there has been no fear so far and no fire has been reported on this issue. According to the information that has emerged, this problem is caused by a ground connection that causes the left headlight to not work. Therefore, both night driving is endangered and there is a risk of fire in the vehicle.

The current call covers 24 vehicles in the US. Among these vehicles, there are 3 EQS 450s, 16 EQS 450s+, 4 EQS 580 and 1 53 AMG models. Below is the statement issued by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).

“Improperly secured electrical connections can increase the risk of fire. In addition, an improperly secured ground connection can cause the left headlight to fail, affecting visibility and increasing the risk of collision. The ground connection in the front left headlamp element and an electrical connection for the electric backup heater in the engine compartment may not be properly secured. Dealers will check the ground connection and the backup heater electrical connection and repair it free of charge if necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on April 29, 2022.”

Among the recalled vehicles are vehicles manufactured between May 26 and December 23, 2021.
