AMD is aware of bug when playing games on Windows 10 and 11

AMD made a detailed explanation for the fTPM error affecting Ryzen systems. How to solve this problem while playing the game?

Recently, AMD users have filed major complaints for bugs that include issues such as freezing, sudden performance drops, and instant lag during gameplay. AMD shared the explanation for the fTPM error affecting Ryzen systems.

This problem, called the intermittent system stutter error, was especially experienced when playing games on Windows 10 and Windows 11. AMD said that systems with Firmware Trusted Platform Module (fTPM) enabled for memory operations are affected by this bug.

What is AMD fTPM error? How to fix Ryzen fTPM problem?

According to AMD, the issue affects AMD Ryzen systems that are capable of performing fTPM-related memory operations on the SPI flash memory on the motherboard. This error in Ryzen processors causes pauses in system interaction or response until the process is complete.

The fix that will be offered by AMD is going through the motherboard BIOS update with improved modules for memory operations related to the fTPM error. Unfortunately, the update won't arrive until May 2022 and will only be available for motherboards based on AMD AGESA 1207 or newer.

However, hardware experts say you can fix the problem by purchasing a TPM module. But before purchasing, you should check if your motherboard supports TPM. If you don't know if your motherboard has a TPM, you can check it through Microsoft's PC Health Check app.

The Trusted Platform Module or TPM is a security measure that protects the computer with an encryption key. Its purpose is to increase platform security by encrypting sensitive data so that attackers and malware cannot access it. This module, which is normally preferred on company servers or office computers, has come down to the players due to the error in Ryzen.
