TikTok SoundOn: Big Innovation For Artists!

TikTok introduced its new SoundOn platform, which will allow artists to be recognized and promoted more easily.

In addition to being a social media platform preferred by millions of users, TikTok has enabled many songs and singers to be recognized and promoted. Now, he has taken a step that will make the singers easier to recognize.

Announcing its own music marketing and distribution platform, SoundOn, to help artists announce their music, TikTok will also allow artists to upload their songs to many platforms.

SoundOn will not charge artists royalties

The new SoundOn platform will help artists become famous more easily. It allows people to upload their music to TikTok and parent company ByteDance's own music streaming service Resso, as well as to other global streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, Deezer and Tencent's Joox.

Moreover, this service is provided completely free of charge, without any charge by the platform. According to TikTok, SoundOn will pay 100 percent of royalties to music content producers on Bytedance-owned platforms and unlimited on TikTok. This includes Resso and ByteDance's video editor app CapCut in Brazil, Indonesia, and India.

For other global streaming services, ByteDance will pay 100 percent in the first year, while this payment will drop to 90 percent in the second year. Rival platform DistroKid charges artists and record labels a subscription-based fee, while paying 100 percent of their revenue from content. Another company, TuneCore, promises artists 100 percent of their streaming revenue while charging per song or album.

"TikTok creators are the lifeblood of our platform and the reason why sounds are hits. When you publish your songs through our platform, our team will enable a variety of creators to make videos with your track. This will help you expand your fan base and reach new communities that creators are a part of."

This isn't the first time TikTok has made a move in the music distribution space. In 2020, the company made a deal with UnitedMasters, the first music distribution company to be integrated into TikTok. Now users can register at us.soundon.global or soundon.global.
