Nintendo Switch Online brings a new feature exclusive to its subscribers. It is now possible to buy physical items by collecting Platinum Points.
There is Game Pass for Xbox, PS Plus for PlayStation, and Switch Online (NSO) paid subscription service for Nintendo Switch. The subscription, which adds many additional features to the console use, is now getting a new feature that will delight the players. Here is the new feature coming for Nintendo Switch Online…
Nintendo Switch Online gets 'Quests and Rewards' section
Offering additional features such as online multiplayer, cloud saving, voice chat via smartphone app, NSO provides access to a library of Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) games, as well as some other promotions and offers.
In addition to these privileges, a 'Quests and Rewards' feature is added. The feature, which we are familiar with from Xbox's Game Pass Quests system, allows you to earn Platinum Points, the Nintendo currency, by playing games. These points can be redeemed on the My Nintendo Store, which includes Nintendo-themed keychains and posters.
While physical items are available with the update, it also brings a set of new Nintendo Switch Online-exclusive icons and backgrounds that will be refreshed weekly. In addition, there will be timed events and special icons to be given at these events.
Getting the icons is pretty easy. While it is possible to earn 30 Platinum Points by playing an online game once a week, the icons only cost 10 points per piece. However, the situation is a little different when it comes to physical items. For example, considering that 400 points are required for Pokémon Legends: Arceus Cable Gripper, and a maximum of 200 points per week can be achieved by playing NES and Game Trials software, this will take some time.
