Another sanction from Twitter came to Belarus!

Twitter has started adding warnings to posts shared by media outlets supported by the Belarusian state.

Unfortunately, the war between Russia and Ukraine continues. In the past weeks, Russia, which has decided to take a military operation and attempted to invade Ukraine, and has become the focus of criticism, is almost a sanction bombardment.

Apart from this, sanctions were also imposed on countries that supported Russia in the invasion attempt. Finally, Twitter has decided to censor Belarus, similar to Russia.

Twitter will also apply Russia tariff to Belarus

Russia is at the center of the reactions because of the wrong decision it has made. In this context, sanctions against the country began to come one after another. As it is known, in the first days of the invasion attempt, social media giant Twitter took a deterrent measure against Russia-based media organizations and started adding warnings to some posts on the grounds that they might be biased.

The platform managed to prevent possible manipulation by linking to a reliable and informative page so that users can access the correct information. It seems that the same will be true for Belarus from now on.

Yoel Roth, the number one name in Twitter's on-site operation, announced in a statement he made a while ago that they decided to add a warning to the posts shared by state-sponsored media outlets in Belarus, as in Russia. It was also stated that the main purpose of this decision was to ensure that correct information about the occupation in Ukraine came to the fore.

At the same time, after the warning was added to the posts of state-sponsored media outlets in Russia, such posts decreased by 30 percent. Describing this result as a success, the platform believes that a similar situation will be experienced in Belarus.
