Antonov generally produces large cargo planes. The company's planes are based at Hostomel airport, located near Kiev. As you know, during the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Russian army attacked the Hostomel airport. According to the allegations, the world's largest cargo plane was destroyed during these attacks.

An official statement has now been received from the company. Although some Twitter users have tried to reach Antonov via their Twitter accounts, there is no information yet. Especially the clashes at the Hostomel airport continued for a very long time. This increases the probability that the AN-225 cargo plane was destroyed.

AN-225 has a great place in aviation history. The original purpose of the aircraft was to carry the space orbiters of the Soviet Union. The USSR's Buran space shuttle was bigger than anything else. Due to the dimensions, the transfer of the space shuttle from one region to another could not be done by road.

Therefore, Antonov would produce a large cargo plane and transport the Buran space shuttle. However, after production the space program was disrupted and the plane was left empty. The latest AN-225 broke the record by carrying a generator weighing 189 tons for a gas power plant in Armenia. AN-225 has 6 turbofan engines and 32 wheels.
